I was more familiar with the Young British Artists than Damien Hirst himself, although I was aware of his works involving animals in formaldehyde. I'm not too keen on conceptual art or Damien Hirst, but he might be doing something right since people shell out so much money for his work. I enjoy the dots exhibition as it's more aesthetically pleasing.

    I chose several of the images because I'm interested in furthering my ability to create almost photo-realistic vector illustrations with a high degree of detail. I'm also hoping to explore new techniques for creating certain styles, effects, and textures. I'm especially interested in learning how to create vector illustrations that have a painted or hand-drawn quality.

    Many of these images I find interesting because of the abstracted subject matter and unique compositions. I enjoy a heavily-graphic style as well as vivid colors. The Superman illustration interests me because of the geometric elements used to fill the negative space. It invokes a certain atmosphere that compliments the subject matter. Bill Murray needs no explanation.
